I see that your projects are mostly short-term (<6 months). Do you provide long-term support for organisations?

Yes, our projects are not just limited to short, ad-hoc projects. However, as most of our volunteers are students in tertiary educational institutions, it can be difficult for these volunteers to commit long-term due to their fluid timetables.
To combat this issue and ensure that we can meet your needs, we do have ongoing projects with organisations that refresh every 3 months, meaning we will re-select new volunteers every 3 months and regard it as a new project.
How involved do you need your clients to be?

Asking the right questions! We encourage our clients to be as involved as possible, as you are the best person to represent your organisation’s interests and needs. Being involved in the process means that you can shortlist the volunteers that you like, and spend the time and effort to maintain the relationship to retain these good volunteers in your organisation.
However, we understand that sometimes it might be difficult to find time (yes, I noticed you staring at your endless paperwork), so we leave it up to the clients and volunteers to discuss your preferred working styles over the kickoff call.
Of course, we require any PICs that are appointed by your organisation to be responsive to emails / texts sent by our volunteers as they might not be able to start their tasks without clarifying necessary information.
What are the backgrounds of your volunteers?

Our volunteers are mostly students from tertiary educational institutions, who are hungry to learn and have more flexible schedules that allow for meetings during your working hours.
How do you select your volunteers?

The volunteers are selected based on the following three criteria:
1. MATCH: The applicant has relevant knowledge, skills and abilities required for the project such as portfolio, job experience, or qualification.
2. ATTITUDE: The applicant demonstrates interest and passion in the project. A resume section dedicated to one's past volunteering experience (if any) will be beneficial.
3. COMMITMENT: The applicant is able to carry out the project and cope with this additional responsibility throughout the project duration.
What exactly is skills-based volunteering (SBV) and why do you specialise in that?

That is a great question! Many people think SBV is just limited to conducting training like photography workshops or teaching music to a group of beneficiaries. Actually, SBV is so much more than just that! Volunteers can use their skills (both professional and personal), knowledge and experience to develop your organisation’s capacity and capability. Some examples of SBV are content creation for your social media handles, creation of funding pitch decks, or even website audits. If you have something that you’d like our help with, do drop us an email at skillsforgd@gmail.com!
I require some projects that are not in your list of services. Will you be able to provide help on these fronts?

Yes, of course! Our list of services is definitely not exhaustive, and we will be happy to provide any assistance to help your organisation. However, as we specialise in skills-based volunteering projects (e.g. marketing, database management, etc.), we will only publish projects where it is directly relevant to volunteer skillsets.
How do your services add value to my organisation?

We aim to provide value on 2 fronts:
1. We make it easy for you: we scope the projects and find the right volunteers for you
2. Working with our community of skilled volunteers: Our high-calibre volunteers come from diverse disciplines, from coding to marketing, and they have work experiences that span from startups to MNCs.
